Sugar Block Club January Block

About a month ago I decided I needed yet another project and signed up for the Sugar Block Club over at Stitchery Dickory Dock.  Today, I finally got around to making my January block.  Yes, I’m that behind.  I’ve been concentrating all my energy on the Quilt Along and I decided it was time to take a little break.  Here’s my January block.

I had a lot of trouble deciding on fabric and finally went with a bundle of Art Gallery Bespoken that I’ve been hoarding.  I must have changed my mind 14 million times.  I just had to pick one.  I really like it.

Now I need to get February and March finished so I’m caught up and ready for April.

I didn’t really take a break from working on my next Texas Teardrops quilt.  I finished up all my blocks today and have them ready to put together.  Now I just have one problem…I might add 7 more blocks.  I know…I’m crazy!

Mom and Rick both vote to add 7 blocks.  I’m undecided.  I like the thought of being finished.  The only reason I would add the blocks would be to make the quilt a rectangle versus square.  I think I’ll sleep on it and see what I think when I get up.  Here’s a little peek at one of my blocks.

I love the fabrics that Riley Blake sent me.  This is from a new collection, Ladybug Garden.  It’s just too cute.

Don’t forget to enter our current giveaway…there’s still time.

  2. Your block looks great. I am doing the SBC BOM too.. haven’t done March yet, but need to finish and post it by the 15th to be eligible for Amy’s giveaway. Looking forward to seeing your Feb and Mar blocks. 🙂

  3. Ooh that block is so pretty. I’m sure you’ll get caught up soon even if you are feeling a bit behind. I wanted to join her group but haven’t been able to yet. Just imagine how far behind I’m going to be once I finally can. LOL

  4. Love the fabrics that you used for your Sugar Block Club block! I’m having a lot of fun with this BOM. The 2nd one was the hardest for me because I had never done paper piecing but was really liking paper piecing by the time I was done! Just finished March’s block last week.

  5. the Ladybug Garden fabric is going to look so cute on the Texas Teardrops quilt, I can’t wait to see what you decide, square or rectangle.
Have you seen Snap Pop fabric line collection? I think it would look good too, what do you think?
