Last summer my husband was lucky enough to get to go to Anchorage Alaska for work. I very sweetly told him that he was not going to Alaska without me! So when he was done teaching his class I flew to Alaska and we had a little vacation. I found the neatest quilt shop in Anchorage called The Quilted Raven. I did a little browsing and found a Moose appliqué pattern that I decided I couldn’t live without. The best part…the pieces were laser cut and already had fusible on the back.
Today I pulled out my Moose pattern and in about an hour I had it together. To be fair it’s only 6.5″ x 21″ but I did get it together pretty quick. I still have to add stitching and then quilt it but it shouldn’t take me too long. Here’s a couple pictures of my mooses. {I know it’s just moose but mooses is so much more fun to say}
I did make one change. The kit had a very dark green for the sashing and border. I didn’t like it so I used one of my favorite Hoffman batiks. I’m going to use that for the backing too.
Happy Wednesday!

How neat! I always love wildlife and this is a wonderful wall hanging!

That is our goal, to go to Alaska someday! You are so lucky to have gone. I do love your Moose project. My husband hunts every year. That’s a nice idea even with deer.
