It’s been a crazy but awesome weekend. My Summer It’s been a crazy but awesome weekend. My Summer Sunrise quilt that was featured in American Patchwork & Quilting in 2022 won Best of Show at the @desertquiltersofnevada 2023 quilt show. I’ve never won BOS so this was a complete surprise. I’m beyond thrilled. My awesome mom pieced this quilt so she played a huge part in us winning. She’s been here with Hannah and I since almost the beginning. She’s our friend, our chosen family, and a fabulous partner in crime. To say we’ll miss her is an understatement. Her smile is contagious and she loves quilting as much as I do. I’m excited to see where her new adventure takes her but deeply sad that she’s moving to Idaho. She will be dearly missed. @ginnymateen I’m so grateful that our paths crossed and you said yes to working with us. This isn’t good-bye…it’s simply a change in direction for now. 💕💕💕
Speechless. I could post this with no words but th Speechless. I could post this with no words but then you all wouldn’t have all the details. So here we go. Pattern is Jungle Abstractions: The Lion by the awesome @violetcraft. Wonderfully pieced by Stephanie and quilted by us. We used double batting, @quiltersdream cotton + wool, to add all the magic to the quilting. The quilt design is called Tire Tracks by the super talented @leishakaye. It’s chef’s kisses on this quilt. The thread color is a perfect peach that blends with all the fabrics. This one is at the top of my “I want to steal this quilt and keep it forever” list! 🦁🦁 • • • Reminder…January is double stamp month for our edge to edge quilting Loyalty Program. Lots of feathers and swirls and a few straight lines with my trusty ruler. This one had to grow on me because it’s not my normal color palette. Before I quilted it I wasn’t even sure if I liked it. 😂😂 My daughter loved it so much she claimed it before it was ever finished.
