Oh hi there! I’m just over here peeking at all $Oh hi there! I’m just over here peeking at all of you...and wishing I would one day wake up and be my ideal healthy weight and have a normal back. 🤓🤣 Do you all remember when I used to workout like a maniac and then I was a dumba$$ clutz and superman’d off our stairs and fractured my spine and working out became a thing of the past because my doctor wouldn’t even let me do physical therapy. So all the gains I made flew out the window basically over night and just walking was a challenge. Fun times, right? Well, in December I decided it was time to get back on the working out train. And let me tell you....it sucked!!! And it still sucks!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It’s so much easier to be a lazy slug and cuddle with the couch. It’s been 2 months and I haven’t quit even though I’d love to. I go to Orange Theory 3 times a week where they try to kill me. Luckily they haven’t succeeded...yet. It’s so hard. So hard. My back probably won’t ever be normal so I have to modify just about everything but I guess that’s ok. I’d just like all of you to know that I HATE it but I go. I know it’s good for me. So I go. But I HAAAATE it. But the really exciting news is that I can now do pilates at home!! My wonderful hubby got me a fancy reformer that now lives in our bedroom. I actually do like pilates. I think it really helps my back more than anything so I’m going to add 3-4 days a week of pilates. So I’ll just be over here in Vegas all bitter about having to work out. I’m going to post about it occasionally because maybe you need a little motivation to move your body even if you hate doing it. We can be on the “I hate exercise but do it anyway” train together!! ❤️❤️🤪🤪$

Remember the huge tie dye quilt that I custom quilted?? Well I finally finished it!! Ok I finished it a couple weeks ago but forgot to post pics. 🤣🤣 Claudia did an amazing job dying the fabric. Make sure to swipe through the pics so you can see the whole piece. I used rulers in the center to create a mandala and then did some graffiti type quilting all around it. This was a beast to quilt but I love how it turned out.

Sooooo last year I did a thing. Mostly because I was proving a point that I can make decisions on my own. Because I’m an adult!! In reality, I suck at making decisions. At least when it comes to things for myself. There’s always so much guilt and back and forth and “I shouldn’t. I’m going to. I can’t. Ok I’m going to do it!” And that’s how Sofee became part of the family. 🤣🤣🤣 I had instant second thoughts that included “What the hello kitty was I thinking??” & “I should not be allowed to make grown up decisions on my own.” & “Now I have to potty train this cute little creature...ughhhhh.”

Fast forward six months and she’s totally captured my heart. She’s my sweet cuddle bunny and my fearless girl. She launches herself off furniture and the stairs. And gets herself wedged under furniture. 😱😱

She hates falling asleep and missing anything so her little head bobbles until she can’t take it anymore and she finally passes out. Those who know me best know I never wanted a dog. Now I can’t imagine life without them. ❤️❤️❤️ Also I love watching Shark Tank as you can tell. 🤣

Why hello Mr Elephant! I would really really love to keep this one but I think Emily might hunt me down and beat me up. 😂😂 Her appliqué and fabric choices are impeccable. She picked out Coil for the quilt design and I think it’s perfect for this elephant! We did double batting so the quilting really pops and adds so much great texture. 💕💕 Make sure to scroll so you can see more pics and a video. Also I added some close up pics of the beautiful stitches that Mr. Heckles always delivers! I couldn’t live without my INNOVA longarms. Seriously. I thought I’d share it today since I haven’t finished the ice dyed beast yet. 🤣🤣 The pattern is by @sassafraslane I think Christine’s version is my absolute fave! Lots of ruler work + freehand quilting on this one. We used double batting to really pop the quilting. 😍😍

I finished the mandala yesterday and started the graffiti quilting. I wish I could fast forward to being finished because I’m dying to see the finished quilt. Maybe I should work on having more patience. 🤪 Claudia’s favorite color is red so all of the graffiti quilting will be done in red thread. That’s a bold statement to make but I think it’s working out well. Make sure to swipe to see all the variations in the quilting. For what it’s worth, this type of quilting doesn’t come naturally to me. I really have to force my brain to switch up the designs. And when I don’t think fast enough swirls start cropping up. 😂😂 I will share the whole quilt...eventually....if I ever finish it.

Well hello IG world. It’s been awhile. I hope you’re all doing well. I’m doing ok I simply needed a break from social platforms to recharge. It’s kinda sad that it took me a minute to figure out how to post on here. 🤣🤣

Here’s what I’m working on this week. This is a huge ice dyed piece of fabric that my friend Claudia made. She asked me to capture some of the dye designs in the quilting so that’s what I’m trying to do. I’m not gonna lie...this one scared me. I’ve never done a mandala type whole-cloth quilt. 🤪 I knew I needed to start in the middle which is a challenge all it’s own. So when I loaded the quilt I basted the entire thing with horizontal lines spaced about 4” apart. That worked well for this 95”x103” beast. I was able to start in the middle and work my way around the mandala. I’ve done 3 rounds so far and getting ready to start the 4th. I think this will be the last round of the mandala because after this the dye gets pretty random. I’ll finish it off with some graffiti quilting.

Tackling this project has been quite fun. I was super nervous to do my first mandala quilting on a gigantic beast but it’s working out rather well. Maybe I shouldn’t jinx myself...🤪🤪
