I recently finished this beauty for a client. Her border was 13” wide so I decided to do some free flow quilting, heavily concentrating on flowers to compliment her appliqué. 🌸🌺🌷🌼🥀 I kept the quilting simple around the flowers with some echos. Make sure to swipe to see all the beautiful pics. I used wool batting for a little extra loft. I think it’s perfection. 🙃

Have you tried this type of quilting? It was really hard for me to execute when I first tried it. I had a hard time switching up designs and making things fit together. Practice was key. Now my brain can do this free flow quilting much easier. It’s so much fun to take all the designs and mix and match them. The texture is simply amazing. If you haven’t tried this you definitely should. Don’t get discouraged if you find it hard. Just keep trying!

Next up…In the Limelight. This might be my favorite quilt I’ve ever made. I designed the pattern and it was featured in American Patchwork & Quilting in 2022. My lovely mom also pieced this one because we all know I’m not doing it. 🤣🤣 I couldn’t do this without her!

It’s been a crazy but awesome weekend. My Summer Sunrise quilt that was featured in American Patchwork & Quilting in 2022 won Best of Show at the @desertquiltersofnevada 2023 quilt show. I’ve never won BOS so this was a complete surprise. I’m beyond thrilled. My awesome mom pieced this quilt so she played a huge part in us winning. We all know my piecing wouldn’t have been nearly as precise. 🤣🤣

To all of our wonderful customers, if you’re in the area today or tomorrow please stop by the shop and help us bid farewell to Ginny. She’s been here with Hannah and I since almost the beginning. She’s our friend, our chosen family, and a fabulous partner in crime. To say we’ll miss her is an understatement. Her smile is contagious and she loves quilting as much as I do. I’m excited to see where her new adventure takes her but deeply sad that she’s moving to Idaho. She will be dearly missed.

Speechless. I could post this with no words but then you all wouldn’t have all the details. So here we go. Pattern is Jungle Abstractions: The Lion by the awesome @violetcraft. Wonderfully pieced by Stephanie and quilted by us. We used double batting, @quiltersdream cotton + wool, to add all the magic to the quilting. The quilt design is called Tire Tracks by the super talented @leishakaye. It’s chef’s kisses on this quilt. The thread color is a perfect peach that blends with all the fabrics. This one is at the top of my “I want to steal this quilt and keep it forever” list! 🦁🦁

Soooo I finished this quilt last year but we all know I’ve not been on IG in ages. 🤣🤣 I loved quilting this one for Kandy. Lots of feathers and swirls and a few straight lines with my trusty ruler. We also decided on double batting to help pop the quilting.
