I finished this mini quilt for @quiltique last wee

I finished this mini quilt for @quiltique last week. I am in love with the end results. In fact, I love it so much I bought 3 kits. 🤣 You all definitely need kits too! The pattern is Just Sew Mini by @quietplay and it’s simply adorable.

I used my @innovalongarm M28 with Autopilot to stitch the large circles. Technically Hannah helped me with the circles. 🤣 I could’ve done it but I knew she’d do it better. She nailed it! After the circles were quilted I basted everything else and then moved the quilt to my 22” classic INNOVA to add all the freemotion quilting.

I ended up using 3 layers of batting. Yes. 3 layers of batting. Two layers of Quilter’s Dream Cotton and one layer of Puff. I didn’t quilt on the hearts because I wanted them to pop and poof up. 😍😍 I didn’t have any hiccups because my INNOVA is the best and she does whatever I ask her to do.

Working on this gorgeous machine embroidered quilt

Working on this gorgeous machine embroidered quilt today. I’m super happy with my design choices and love the secondary design that I created around the smaller embroidered sections. I used two layers of batting, cotton + wool, Omni thread on top, and bottom line in the bobbin. Black thread on black fabric can be super hard to see so I used a really dark charcoal thread. It’s maybe a shade or two lighter than jet black.

I didn’t have to do much marking. The only thing I did was mark a white chalk dot in the middle of the sashing so I’d know where to quilt the triangle points. Lots of swirls and feathers to help fill in all of the open space.

I think my creative juices were really flowing nicely for this one. Honestly it’s been a rough few months for me and my creativity really started to suffer. I think this is a good sign that I’m feeling better. 🩷🩷 Remember…be nice to yourself. Give yourself grace when life gets tricky. 🩷🩷

We had such a great time yesterday hosting the @lasvegasmqg Las Vegas Modern Quilt Guild for a charity quilting day. We helped the ladies finish 12 quilts in 6ish hours. Not too bad if you ask me. 😎😎 Many of the ladies had never used a longarm before but that didn’t matter at all! They were quilting like pros in no time. I hope we can do it again in the future.

It’s a miracle. I’m working on a second custom quilt this week. This one is for Irene and I think she’s going to love it. I know I sure do. A little PSA for all my friends…pay close attention when using rulers. Don’t be like me and hit one and break your needle into 14 pieces. That’s not fun at all. 🫣🥴 Thankfully my trusty INNOVA didn’t even flinch and I didn’t break my fave ruler. Whew!!

Hello there sir! I started working on this adorable Reginald Raccoon quilt today. The pattern is by @madi_hastings but this one was made by my dear friend Emily. Emily has named her cutie patootie Rocky the Raccoon. He’s getting a good dose of freehand custom quilting to bring him to life. The @tulapink fabrics are soooo good.
