Flash back to the quilt I quilted for @alisonglass. Still one of my all time faves! Lots of ruler work mixed with freemotion quilting. 😎😎 It took me awhile to enjoy working with rulers. Now they’re a regular part of my custom quilting. Do you struggle with ruler work? Do you have any great tips for all of us? My biggest tip is to never ever try doing ruler work without a ruler foot and a ruler plate. That’s just an accident waiting to happen. 🤕🤕

TA DAAAAA!! My wonderfully talented mother took my quilted fabric and turned it into this awesome @patternsbyannie Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 using @rubystarsociety fabrics and @tulapink strapping. I couldn’t be more in love! Now I need to travel so I can use it. Who wants to hire me to teach longarm quilting at their guild or shop?! 😂😂 This bag needs to travel. ✈️🚗

I used soft and stable instead of batting and it’s perfection. The quilt design is my Donut Surprise digital edge to edge pantograph. It will be available to purchase very soon. 😎 I used matching thread so it didn’t distract from the typewriters. I considered aqua or hot pink thread but decided against it. I’m glad I went with matching. I’m so grateful for my mom and her willingness to do all the things I can’t do or hate doing. 🤣🤣

I recently finished this beauty for a client. Her border was 13” wide so I decided to do some free flow quilting, heavily concentrating on flowers to compliment her appliqué. 🌸🌺🌷🌼🥀 I kept the quilting simple around the flowers with some echos. Make sure to swipe to see all the beautiful pics. I used wool batting for a little extra loft. I think it’s perfection. 🙃

Have you tried this type of quilting? It was really hard for me to execute when I first tried it. I had a hard time switching up designs and making things fit together. Practice was key. Now my brain can do this free flow quilting much easier. It’s so much fun to take all the designs and mix and match them. The texture is simply amazing. If you haven’t tried this you definitely should. Don’t get discouraged if you find it hard. Just keep trying!

It’s been a crazy but awesome weekend. My Summer Sunrise quilt that was featured in American Patchwork & Quilting in 2022 won Best of Show at the @desertquiltersofnevada 2023 quilt show. I’ve never won BOS so this was a complete surprise. I’m beyond thrilled. My awesome mom pieced this quilt so she played a huge part in us winning. We all know my piecing wouldn’t have been nearly as precise. 🤣🤣
