It’s that time of year again. Amy from Amy’s Creative Side, is hosting the Blogger’s Quilt Festival. If this is your first time visiting my blog, welcome! I hope you will have a look around and maybe even come back sometime. You can see pictures of some of my past quilts here.
I’ve decided to enter my Big Star Quilt in the modern category. My Big Star is 66″ x 66″ and made with Art Gallery and Moda solids. My thread of choice was Superior Threads So Fine #50 and I used Warm and Natural cotton batting. All the quilting is freehand and done on Roscoe {my Gammill}.
I have a few pictures to share that show the process I used to quilt this one. I knew I wanted to carry the feathers from the star into the background so I had to draw some lines in the background fabric. I used my favorite Mark-B-Gone pen that is water soluble.
Here’s a look at the center while it was still on my machine. I am really pleased with the feathers.
I hope you enjoyed my Big Star quilt. I really had fun quilting this one.
Please be sure to check out my other entry, Owlene, if you haven’t done so.
