I’m Alive…Let’s Have a Giveaway

I know I’ve been MIA the last couple of days, well the last 5 days.  Rest assured…I am alive!  I could give you all a ton of excuses but the bottom is simple.  I was busy working on the Texas Teardrops Quilt Along and time slipped away.

Plus, I’m feeling a little drained in the way of creativity.  Hannah is minutes away from getting her driver’s license, literally.  She takes her test tomorrow.  Yikes…how did this happen?  Why is it going to be legal for my baby to drive a car…a real car.  Maybe I’ll go to bed and when I wake up she will be little again.  Let me just go get my magic time machine….

Alright enough whining.  I need to put on my big girl panties and move forward.  So hard.  This picture makes me smile.  We went out to dinner and the vending machine had mustaches.

And of course I can’t forget Jake, my little guy.  He’s the blondie on the left.

He was so excited to get the blonde mustache.  He said it was perfect since he’s blonde.  His best bud is cracking me up in this picture.

I was busy today chopping up vintage sheets.  I joined a vintage sheet fat quarter swap and I had to get my fat quarters mailed by tomorrow.  Hmmm…just call me Queen Procrastinator.  I can’t wait to see what I get back.  I really need another project.  Not.

I mentioned a giveaway in the title…I guess it’s time to get to that.  I bet you’re dying to know what’s up for grabs.  How about a Summersville Charm Pack from Moda?

Lot’s of great colors in this one.  Just in time for spring which should be right around the corner.

No fancy hoops to jump through to enter.  Just leave a comment.  You can get a bonus entry by tweeting the giveaway or sharing on facebook, just let me know.  I’ll leave this open until Tuesday March 5th.  Good luck!

  1. I know how you feel. I just sent my oldest off on a LDS mission and my second is getting her driver’s license in a few months. They’re growing up too fast. Thanks for hosting the give away. What a cute charm pack!

  2. I am a couple years away from one of my kiddos driving. Kind of a scary thought! One day your pulling them in a wagon and the next they are driving to the grocery store. Where does time go? Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. My younger sister get her driver’s license next year. It makes me feel really old. lol I remember driving her to school and picking her up from Kindergarten. Craziness. My daughter will be 18mo in a week and it seems like yesterday she was just born. They grow too fast!

  4. Aw… well I understand how you feel. One of my twin sisters got their permit yesterday… so scary, and the other will be following along in a few weeks..

  5. Good Luck to your daughter! Its crazy how fast kids grow up. I do not have any of my own, but I worked with kids for years, and when I heard that some of them were in high school already, I felt super old!! (and I am only 28, I guess I was 16 when I worked with them!) Love what you chose your vintage swap!

  6. Time to lock your daughter in her room…for say ten years or so.pretty soon she is going to think she can date, go off to college and the Move away from her momma. Take it from me ..You have got to nip this in the bud!!!

Then in the next decade you can let her our of her room, she can marry the boy of your choosing and she will be eternally grateful.

Ugh…clearly my cold medicine is getting to me
    Signed
Mother of 3 adult daughters that I let drive before 25. 😉

  7. Very cute mustaches, and that looks like a fun charm pack.
It really is amazing the emotions we go through when our kids take their drivers test, then again when they get the licence and drive without you. In the end you just get used to it. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Love the mustaches mug shots. 🙂

My babies all drove away that first time many years ago. I still stand on the porch and bless them when they leave after one of their tresured visits. That is all a Mom can do … Bless ’em and place ’em in God’s Hands. May your daughter always drive safe and well.

Thanks for chance at the giveaway. I could use a little summer in this cold rainy northern night … 🙂 Pat

  9. isn’t it wonderful? you blink and your child is going to drive your car … not to worry, just keep your fingers crossed and smile! my great granddaughter is going to be fifteen and can’t wait to ask her mom to let her get her learner’s permit. i can’t wait to hear her mom’s answer, remembering her asking her mom and her mom asking me!

  10. The mustaches are fun. My nephew loves to wear his when he does his magic shows.
When I started driving, my mom gave me a clip for my visor that I still have today that says, “Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly”.

  11. My eldest passed her test New Year’s Eve 2012 and moved to Uganda, from England, exactly one week later. She is now driving a science bus for a charity around a rural district there teaching science. I had to post her licence which, thankfully has arrived! How do they grow up so quickly?

  12. I feel your pain! My oldest is taking his dl’s test next week! It’s a good thing my youngest is only 11 months 😉 LOVE the picture of your boy and his friend, too cute!!

  13. Ha, ha. I do remember when the kids all got their learner’s permit to drive. They are all around 40 now and I lived through it!! 🙂 You will too. Truly, you don’t really want her to be a child FOREVER.

  14. My Kiddo’s have all grown & married, etc. But I am the one that hasn’t grown up yet!!! lol I still love blowing bubbles, colorin, hide & seek etc….it’s just I do it now with the Grankiddo’s!!! LOL (don’t know why I don’t get any older???? :> Must be the water! lol lol)

  18. Fun post! Thanks for sharing. I wanted to join that vintage sheet swap–but alas, I have NO vintage sheets! LOL I will just have to drool over all of yours….

  19. It all began when she was a tiny tot and you worked so hard to teach her momma and dada, then to take her first step! Looking back, I don’t understand why I was in such a hurry for my girls to talk and walk! But at 33, 28, 25, 24, 22 and 20(x2), I can’t stuff them back into diapers, but I wanna!!! We’ll share that same boat with you for a pity party!!!

  20. OMG! Are you kidding me ‘staches in a vending machine??!! I am living in the sticks and we don’t have anything cool like that!! I probably won’t see Summerville in person until I get a chance to visit the city in ummm… 2 months or so! Love that fabric line too! Thanks for the chance 🙂

  21. My daughter is a year away from getting a drivers license and is already planning it all out so she can get her license on her birthday LOL. I miss those cute, cuddly days with no drama.

    Thanks for the chance!

  23. I love your posts! I can usually relate 🙂 Now that my “girl” is grown, I have a grandson and can enjoy it all over again. Life is good!

  24. Hiya!!! Nope, you have to wait until the grandkids get their licenses. That was traumatic (and aging)! Love the kids pics, they’re all so cute with their staches. I absolutely love Summersville. Thank you for having the giveaway. Blessed be, hugs!!!
