A New Block & an Update on Texas Teardrops

This weekend I played around with my Swirly Twirly Dresden block and made one using a black background.  I saw all the other great blocks using black and I knew I had to make one.  Here it is…

Swirly Twirly Dresden

I used some leftover scraps of Kate Spain’s Cuzco line.  I wish I had more…I want to make a whole quilt like this.  I love it!

And now for the very exciting news!  I finally have a digital copy of the Texas Teardrops templates thanks to my lovely daughter.  We sat down yesterday and finally tackled the templates.  I’m happy to announce that they are ready to share.  I’m tweaking all the details over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned!  It’s almost time for some Texas Teardrops!!!

Have a great Sunday night!

  1. I love how your block turned out! Black just seems to make this block pop! So excited for you with the Texas Teardrops! Congratulations and yay for helpful daughters!!!

  2. What a striking pattern! Looks really neat in black and in white. Would you recommend being comfortable with a regular dresden plate first? (I’ve never dared to dresden.)
