I had very good intentions of posting a quilt related post today but that isn’t going to happen. Yesterday I had to keep Jake home from school and take him to the doctor. Turns out he has a pretty bad ear infection.
Soooo, no sewing for me yesterday. However, I did manage to finish up my tutorial that will be featured on Riley Blake’s website on Jan 18th!!! Can you read the excitement in my typing?? I can’t hardly stand it. I am super excited to share what I’ve been working on for the last week.
I think I must be a little nuts because I really wanted to join the current Project Quilting Challenge but tomorrow is Wednesday and I haven’t even started! I’m not sure I can pull off a completed project between now and Sunday at noon. That sounds a tiny bit impossible. But I just might be able to do it.
I thought I would share some of the most adorable things mom made for Claudia {granddaughter} for Christmas. Mom loves to make clothes {she’s crazier than me}. She found the most amazing American Doll patterns at Liberty Jane Patterns and made Claudia some really cute things. Let me also tell you that mom’s model in the picture came from Micheal’s and the clothes fit her perfectly. In case you are looking for an American Girl alternative {this doll was $12.00}.
The skinny jeans crack me up! And check out her boots. Mom made those too. The belt is made out of ribbon with a little bitty belt buckle.
And the shoebox…mom made that too. Out of a 12×12 piece of scrapbook paper. I tell you my mom is one crafty lady!
I’ve just never seen anything so cute. I wish I liked making things like this. I’m just more of a quilt person. I like to sew the straight lines.
Mom also made Nick {grandson} a fleece sweatshirt jacket. Again…no thank you…I’ll stick with making quilts. But, she did an awesome job and he loves it!
I hope to have some quilty stuff to share tomorrow. I just might have a great idea for the Project Quilting challenge. I just need to find the time to work on it.
I am in awe of your mom’s mad sewing skills! I am so not ready for that yet!! Someday maybe 🙂
Your mum is a very clever chicky! Did she make the little seat as well ‘cos that is so darn cute too!

!!!!Get Out!!! She did NOT make those things! WOW! You have a lot of stitchy talent in your family. To work on such a tiny scale is enviable to say the least. Beautiful!
What a great Grandmother! I sure love those boots. I can make the doll clothes but not boots. Love the pictures. My daughter bought some used American Girl dolls for $25. They need some love and care but my Grand daughter is up to the challenge. And posting quilt pictures? I have to do laundry and keep the floors up. So you can post whatever and whenever. I love your blog!!
