October Stash Bee Blocks

Happy hump day!  I have to share a picture of my sweet friend Linda and a quilt she made using one of my patterns.  She did a fantastic job and I’m so proud.  I love how she quilted it!

I’m so excited because I finished my October Stash Bee blocks today!  That means all of my October commitments are now complete!  Woohoo…I wasn’t sure I was going to get everything finished but I did.  Yay me.

Our hive leader, Rachelle, picked book shelf blocks for this month.  I didn’t use any patterns, just chopped and sewed fabric as I went.  I like how they turned out.  We were each asked to make {4} 6.5″ blocks.

Here are my blocks…

Stash Bee Book Shelf Blocks

This is my favorite block!  I have a slightly warped sense of humor and I found it rather funny that I titled this one “All by Myself.”  I even broke out in song as I made it.  Sad but true.
No one else has made a single lonely book block so I thought it had to be done.  Let’s hope Rachelle likes my sense of humor.

I hope everyone has a great night.  I’ll be here sulking a little since I can’t go to Quilt Market this year.  My baby turns 16 right in the middle of all the quilting fun.  I can’t miss her 16th birthday but I sure wish I had a magic time machine so I could do both!

  1. OK….I hate to admit it since they are all great BUT I love the “All by Myself” block the best! My sense of humor definitely clicks with yours and I am glad you had fun doing this. Of course, the only bad thing is now I will be singing that song for the rest of the night!

  2. Love your friends, quilt and her beautiful quilting skills. Your Bee blocks are awesome. and I have to admit I read ‘All by myself’ in song. 🙂 Now it is stuck in my head and I blame you. Have a great day.

  3. Cool! Love “All by Myself,” as I am a full time caregiver to my 81 year old mom whose mobility is quite limited. We live way out the in boonies outside of San Antonio. Being quite a people person, I have to admit that becoming basically a shut-in has been a huge adjust for me for the past four years. Quilting has kept me somewhat sane! Don’t get me wrong, I love my mother, but 24/7 has been tough! My entire social life has become virtual. LOL Many days I feel “All by Myself.”
