May 4th Stash Bee Block

It’s only the 4th of May and I’m finished with my May stash bee block!  Our assignment this month was to make a wonky star block.  I was so relieved that it was something besides appliqué.

I like how this one turned out.  I did have to rip out about 3 or 4 seams.  I sewed a couple pieces on upside down and had one star point off.  I’m pretty sure sewing while under the influence of cold medicine is not a good plan.  I probably should have waited to make the block but thankfully, it turned out pretty good.

Now I’m thinking it might be kind of fun to make a wonky star quilt.  Like I need to make any more tops before I quilt all the tops that are waiting patiently.

I also got a bundle of goodies in the mail yesterday.  Awhile back I won a Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate and here’s what I picked out…

I got myself some Art Gallery fabrics.  Who knows what I’ll do with them but they’re soooo pretty!

Here’s a little tidbit of fun.  We’ve decided to have a giveaway as soon as we hit 300 followers!  We’re only 8 away so tell your momma, tell your daddy, tell all your friends!  Tweet about it, blog about it, yell it from the rooftops {maybe I shouldn’t blog under the influence of cold medicine either}.  Help us find 8 new friends and we’ll have an awesome giveaway.  Maybe a bundle of those great Jennifer Paganelli prints we recently received…or maybe a jelly roll or layer cake…I just can’t decide!

  1. Oh, I just love your star block! I think it is the prettiest I have ever seen. Hmm, if this is what sewing under the influence of cough medicine produces, I think I might start… 😉
