The Pink Beast is Finished!

Yippee!  I’m so excited I finally finished quilting the pink beast!  Well…maybe.  I think I have to do a little more quilting tomorrow morning.  I’m not sure I would be happy with it if I pull it off the racks without doing a little stitching inside the embroidered maple leaves.  It’s a little too wrinkled on the back for my liking.
I wanted to share some pictures since I’ve been so busy working on this quilt for the past 3 days. I haven’t had much time to get anything else done.  But that’s ok because I’m so glad to have this one done or almost done!
I alternated the stitching in the beige areas that frame the leaves.  Every other block is either loops or wavy lines.  I didn’t really want to do each one the same.I would just like to add that I have a serious problem! What’s wrong with this picture?

I cannot get out of the habit of chucking my thread on the floor.  It’s a terrible habit and my vacuum cleaner really hates it.  I’ll have to crawl around when I’m completely finished and try to pick most of it up.
I hope you enjoyed seeing some pictures of this quilt.  I’m super happy it’s finished.  Who knows…maybe I won’t stitch inside the leaves.  I need to sleep on it and make the final decision tomorrow.

I’ll post pictures of the whole quilt once I pull it off the racks!

  1. How beautiful and I’m voting for a little quilting in the leaves too! Threads on the floor….I am always doing that and I know I am the one who has to pick them up….crazy! Love seeing so many different styles of quilting!

  2. Gorgeous quilt & quilting! Love the embroidered blocks. I have seen quilts where quilting was done over the embroidery and I really didn’t care much for that. Maybe outlining the shape of the leaves with some echoing of the line or fill in with a small design.

  3. LOVE IT!!! I think if you decide to do ‘veins’ in the leaves it would really make them pop! Can’t wait till they are done!
PS Strings give vacuums hic-ups! They don’t mix so well! 🙂 But dog hair does the same and you don’t see me getting rid of my dogs… hehe

  4. Great job on the quilting, and the leaves look great since you filled them. I guess I have an advantage being your Mom I got to see them first. Everyone is going to love them.

  5. wow this is super fabulous. i really like how the flowers pop without the stitching inside of them. and all the different free quilting is awesome. cant wait to see the whole finished quilt.
