Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone is ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow.  I know I’m ready to chow down on pumpkin pie and fried turkey!

This week hasn’t been very productive for me as far as sewing goes.  I spent most of today driving to and from Dallas so that I could go shopping at the Moda & United Notions Warehouses!  I just love visiting Moda.  I get to wander around looking at all the bolts of fabric.  They go on and on forever.  I can get lost in there for hours.  Today, I was on a mission for batting and a few solids.  Check out the gorgeous cross weaves I picked up.

This fabric is so cool.  It’s actually woven using two different colored threads ~ one for the warp and one for the weft.  It really creates depth and vibrancy in the fabric.  It almost looks iridescent when the light hits it.  I can’t wait to try it out.  I also jumped on the bandwagon and picked up some solid grey.  Grey is so popular right now.  I think I’m going to combine these vibrant cross weaves with the grey.

Unfortunately, I think I’m coming down with a cold.  Yuck!  But I still managed to find enough energy to make my pumpkin pies tonight.  Man do they smell good!

2 down…2 to go

This family is crazy for pumpkin pie.  I have to make 4 pies for a family of 4!   I also have my sweet potato casserole mixed up and ready to bake.  Tomorrow should be pretty laid back as far as cooking.  Thank goodness!  Maybe I’ll feel better tomorrow.

Don’t forget to check out Hannah’s quilt at Free Quilt Patterns! And make sure you click ‘like’ if you like her quilt.  I think she did a fantastic job especially since she’s only 15.  I’m so proud!

Well that’s all I have for tonight.  I want to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Vicki
